If you haven't checked out this year's HGTV Green Home, you are missing out!
I am always so impressed with the Dream Homes and Green Homes HGTV builds, decorates, and gives away every year.
And of course, I ALWAYS enter to win them!
This year's Green Home is an eco-friendly cottage near the coast
just outside of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
It's a super-cute cottage style house with traditional architecture and modern accents.
All of the rooms are beautifully decorated,
but the one that really caught my eye was the master bedroom.
I'm not usually a fan of contemporary or modern design,
but this room is the perfect mix of modern and traditional.
I just love it.
The bed is totally unique with its' casters, tapered posts, and the bold red color.
What makes the four-poster bed even cooler is that it is made out of old doors purchased from Habitat for Humanity.
The bedding contains just the right amount of red without making the bed look too dominant in the room
and the different prints and textures of the pillows create visual interest.
The nautical style bulkhead light is a nice quiet touch that
doesn't draw your attention away from the room's other dramatic features,
like these recycled tin drum pendants...
What a great way to add some whimsy and replace traditional reading lamps!
Below the flat screen TV sits a parson's table that is wrapped in rafia,
giving it a one-of-a-kind look.
I just LOVE that chair!
The simple flowered fabric gives the room just a subtle hint of femininity.
See that door that looks like it leads out to a hallway?
It actually opens up to a full-length mirror.
So fun and unexpected!
Designer Linda Woodrum did an AMAZING job on this room!
Wouldn't it be nice to retire in this room every night?
One can dream, right?
